Hello there! |
My name is Madison Miller, welcome to our class webpage! I am so thankful to be a part of the Bullitt East family again for the 2021-2022 school year. It is my third year teaching at Bullitt East, and I am very excited to be serving again as the PLC leader for English One. As we dive into the school year, I will be updating this site with more important information and documents to help us stay connected.
Here are a few fun facts about me... I was born and raised right here in Louisville, KY! I come from a family of educators, they inspired me to join the profession. My father is an administrator in JCPS and my sister is a 2nd grade teacher...teaching runs in the family! You can always find me with a cup of coffee in one hand and a good book in the other. I love cheesy memes, reading, baking, spending time with family & friends, and going on adventures! In the summer of 2018, I had the opportunity to teach Standard V (~seventh grade) English at Red Bank Christian School in Stann Creek District, Belize! You'll find a few pictures from this teaching experience on the lefthand side of the page. Educational Background: I graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors from the University of Louisville with a bachelors degree in Middle & Secondary Education in May 2019. At the University of Louisville, I received the Outstanding Student in Secondary Grades Education–English Award as well as Joe Wilkes Award for Outstanding Student Teacher of Middle and Secondary Education. I will graduate with my master's degree in Teacher Leadership with an ESL endorsement from the University of the Cumberlands in May of 2022. Teaching Pedagogy: It is my mission as an educator to equip all students with the necessary skills to become lifelong learners and active members of the community. I will accomplish this goal primarily through culturally and developmentally responsive practices, trauma informed practices, standards based teaching, and relationship building. We will maintain a classroom culture of kindness, collaboration, and respect. It's going to be a great school year! |
